(Moody skies, matcha lattes, and porch envy included)
Savannah, as exciting as it can be, also has a way of slowing you down without asking. We went expecting a quick adventure… something bustling and bright… and instead, the city wrapped us in moody skies, cobblestone streets, and the kind of quiet charm you only notice when you let the pace drop.
It rained more than it shined. We wandered without an agenda. And by the end, I realized it was exactly the kind of trip we didn’t know we needed. These are the three highlights I’m still thinking about.

🏡 1. The Old Charm + Curb Appeal Around Every Corner
Savannah’s streets are like a living mood board. Pastel row houses, ivy creeping along brick walls, front porches that look straight out of a Southern novel. Every block felt like it had its own personality, and I kept taking the long way around just to see one more.
If “porch envy” were a competitive sport, I’d be undefeated.
🚶♀️ 2. The Walkability (Even in the Rain)
Our centrally located Airbnb meant we could step outside and instantly be in the middle of it all. Cafés, boutiques, leafy squares… It was all just a short stroll away. Even with umbrellas in hand and rain on the forecast, it felt like a cozy little adventure. The kind of walking that makes you notice every detail, from the sound of footsteps on wet brick to the smell of magnolia in the air.

🍳 3. The Food (Especially These Two Favorites)
Savannah takes its dining scene seriously, and we loved everything we ate, but two places stood out.
First, The Collins Quarter, known for its amazing brunch, but equally impressive for dinner. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and every dish we ordered was full of flavor.
Then, Little Duck Diner, which charmed me instantly with its playful duck theme and comfort food menu. Both were the kind of places you leave already planning your return visit.

☕ Honorable Mention: The Strawberry Matcha at Franklin’s
Yes, it deserves its own spot. Sweet without being cloying, smooth, and completely unexpected… it’s the drink I didn’t know I needed. And Franklin’s itself? Cozy, moody, and perfect for lingering.
💬 Closing
Savannah didn’t rush us, and I’m grateful for that. It let us wander slowly, savor our meals, and notice the details that make a trip stick in your memory.
If you go, don’t just check off the big attractions. Stroll, linger, and let the city’s quiet charm find you. Rain or shine, some places stay with you, and Savannah is one of them.
